Dermis Graft

An autologous dermis graft is a surgery that collects autologous tissue from the buttocks and transplants it to areas where the skin has become thin (such as the nasal tip). Because it is your own tissue, it engrafts well and is highly safe.
Autologous dermis grafting is mostly used in cases of revision surgery.
When the skin has become thin or damaged, or after removing a foreign object, autologous dermis is often used to promote skin regeneration.
The operation of removing cartilage may further worsen the blood circulation of the already-thinned skin, potentially causing necrosis.
Merely removing cartilage will result in a depression because the skin has become thin. To improve this, tissue grafting is performed; since the skin component is a single connected layer of epidermis, dermis grafting is done to add thickness.
