Lower Eyelid Retraction (Droopy Eye Formation)
Our clinic's 'lower eyelid retraction' droopy-eye formation has two treatment methods. (Conjunctival incision method / skin incision method)
The tacking method using threads has extremely short durability, so our clinic does not offer it.
Features
Lower eyelid retraction (skin incision method)
It can lower the eyelid most reliably, but because the incision is sutured, the thread will be in place for about a week.
Lower eyelid retraction (conjunctival incision method)
The thread is passed through the CPF and the tarsal plate from the back side of the eyelid (conjunctiva) and tied, performing droopy-eye formation. Its convenience is an advantage, but there is also a possibility of returning to the original state. Lower eyelid retraction (droopy eye formation) is a surgery that shortens the ligament tissue that pulls the lower eyelid downward, lowering the lower eyelid from the center to the outer side, improving the impression of upturned eyes. It is divided into a simple method using only threads, a method that processes from the conjunctiva without incising the skin, and a method that also excises the skin. To enhance the effect, lateral canthoplasty is often combined. Representative methods include the simple incision method and the W method. In the simple incision method, the incision is large, the wound tends to stand out, and there is a high possibility of relapse, while in the W method the incision line is less noticeable. Those who pull the outer corner outward and have 1.5mm or more of white of the eye can especially expect results.
